Short biography

Dr. Oleksii Hamov is a violinist, conductor and Doctor of Musical Arts. Born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, he holds degrees from the Moscow State Academy, Southeastern Louisiana University, the University of Tennessee and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He won the concertmaster’s chair of the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra by competitive audition and has performed for the heads of state of the NATO member countries in Madrid. He has served as Director of Orchestral Activities at Colorado State University Pueblo and as concertmaster of the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra.
